Description : Madonna con Bambino

Oil painting on canvas. Northern Italian school of the seventeenth century. The two figures, Mary with her little son Jesus in her arms, appear serene and smiling, almost curious, in an attitude of very human family intimacy, as they look to their right, at something or someone off screen, towards which they both extend a hand. In the background a blurred landscape, with the gloomy sky that opens to the left to let the light shine through, a symbol of the divine presence, the only element that leads back to a spiritual dimension. Restored and relined, the painting has small drops of color. Presented in a listello frame.
