Description

Charles X letter box “Maison Alphonse Giroux” veneered mahogany and citronnier, Paris 1834-1838. Equipped with a central door which leads to the letter compartment, the latter made of canvas and with an extensible accordion structure. Decorated with finely chiselled and gilded bronze elements, portraying classical motifs such as faces, bluebells with dolphin heads, anthems and phytomorphic friezes. Inside it has a black parchment and canvas case, bearing the label of the Maison “Alph Giroux. Rue du Coq S' Honoré No. 7 in Paris.”.
