Description
Pendulum clock in mahogany and mahogany slab, Launceston (England) second quarter of the 19th century. Exhibition in engraved brass, with dial in Arabic and Roman numerals, phytomorphic decorations on the corners, upper part with engraved naval scenes and painted moon phase section. The decoration is completed by the mahogany veneer on the front, the purfling and the pair of inlays in maple and painted maple depicting shells. Back in fir, blown glass with breakage. Dial signed "W. Reynolds". Reynolds is a family of watchmakers active in and around Launceston between 1811 and the 1860s, thanks mainly to the production of William Reynolds and his son William Reynolds Jr.
