Oil painting on canvas. Signed lower right. Further signed signature on the back. Originally from Palermo, but trained in Milan, Gian Rodolfo D'Accardi made his debut in the 1930s, achieving great success throughout Italy. His production ranges from landscapes to portraits, from still lifes to masks: of a vague post-impressionist mold, his art is expressed with lively and harmonious colors and with imaginative forms, pervaded with poetic intensity. Among his subjects is the vast and varied series of horses and riders in the woods, to which the work presented here also belongs. Work presented in frame.
