Oil on cardboard. Signed lower right. The Turin artist Vittorio Cavalleri was a portraitist, genre painter but above all landscape painter. Having moved in 1885 to Gerbido, on the outskirts of Turin, to live in the tranquility and solitude of the countryside, in contact with nature, he created rural landscapes, shepherds, farmers, but also episodes of life in bourgeois environments. Here is a glimpse of the countryside where a river flows among gentle, verdant hills. The work is presented in a mid-20th century setting.
