Oil painting on canvas. Signed and dated lower left. The painting of the Meratese painter Donato Frisia, who created landscapes, still lifes and portraits, stands out for the choice of almost arid colours, such as lime white and dull natural earths (traditional colors of the mural technique), for the solid outline , the abolition of nuance, the renunciation of the abuse of chiaroscuro. Frisia did not adhere to twentieth-century painting and group logic, always maintaining its own stylistic identity, which is also found in this snowy landscape. The work is presented in a period frame.
