Mixed media under glass, collage. At the bottom left the initial K. On the back the name and title, as well as the German Gallery label (Stuttgart) with the data. The artist Irene Kowaliska, of Polish origins but trained in Vienna and then lived for a long time in Italy, specialized as a ceramic painter of popular and naive figures; in the last phase of his life he also dedicated himself to painting on glass, often interwoven with collage inserts. The naive work presented here belongs to this period, in which the female figure facing the rain with the umbrella dragged by the wind, is made in collage, with fabrics, straw threads, pieces of paper painted and applied under glass with a painted paper background. The work is presented in a frame.
