Description : Composizione con gufo
Sculpture in bronze and metals. Signed and dated on the base of the column. An owl is tied to a golden metal column, with the thick rope around its neck coming from the large ball of yarn resting on the same base. The work belongs to the Bestiary cycle by Valeriano Trubbiani, an artist from Macerata, in which various animals (seagulls, ducks, owls, toucans, frogs, mice, bats, sometimes in strange combinations), are blocked by hooks, ropes, traps, chains , cogwheels and sometimes with doll's eyes with long eyelashes), to constitute a hallucinating repertoire of victims and executioners and of inexorable tortures. Trubbiani's art wants to cause wounds, because it expresses his obsession with the cruelties of war in particular (in memory of the bombings on his city) but of technology in general.
