Description : Il sogno di San Giuseppe

Oil painting on canvas. Saint Joseph, asleep, receives a visit from the angel in a dream who urges him to take Mary and Joseph and escape to Egypt to escape the massacre of the Innocents ordered by Herod. The two figures in the foreground occupy the entire scene, with the only background being the light that accompanies the angel. Restored and relined, the painting is presented in a repurposed frame from the late 19th century.
