Oil on wood. Signed lower right. Bruto Mazzolani dedicated himself mainly to landscape painting and nudes. In his production he progressively moved from descriptive realism of academic origin to a painting with marked divisionist and Macchiaioli accents, which ultimately took on an increasingly strongly material connotation. In this portrait of a woman, depicted only in the face, the impressionist influence prevails in the play of light and light and dark which create continuity between the features of the face and the background. The table has some small marks. It is presented in a contemporary frame.
