Oil on wood. Signed lower right. Bruto Mazzolani, son of an artist from Ferrara, dedicated himself to landscape painting, portraits and nudes. His works, always characterized by strong realism and meticulous detail, over the years took on an ever greater material connotation, and saw the transition, especially in landscapes, to uniform backgrounds of color spatulaed directly onto the canvas. This small picture is also created with spatula strokes of colour, with its different material consistencies which contribute to the effects of light and shadow. The work is presented in a frame.
