Oil painting on canvas. Signed lower right. Orfeo Tamburi was a multifaceted and prolific Italian artist. Designer, painter and journalist, he even tried his hand at acting (Roberto Rossellini's Envy). In his pictorial career, Tamburi investigated the expressive possibilities of the material and attempted to overcome the figurative-non-figurative antithesis. The figurative, present in his first production, is gradually abandoned in favor of a geometrization of reality, a flattening of forms which does not, however, preclude a notable expressive power. Recurring in his production are city views, often Parisian but not only, characterized precisely by the precise lines of the shapes of the houses but also of the windows (Tamburi has also been defined as the "painter of windows"), which contribute to emphasizing the geometric vision of the reality. The work is presented in a frame.
