Oil on the table. Signed lower center. Nino Caffé became famous in particular as "the painter of priests", for the large production dedicated to this particular subject. The poet and writer Aldo Palazzeschi wrote about him: "Taking as his subject the young seminarians in common life, in the refectory sitting at the table, in an hour of recreation in the courtyard of the seminary or on the sea beach, candidly asleep dreaming of the miter and purple, the artist was able to draw pure and simple joy from black, the symbol of austere or painful things". The work is presented in a frame.
