Oil painting on canvas. Signed lower left. Bruno Cassinari's artistic production is characterized by formal deformations of expressionist ancestry with reflections on cubist structuring. The artist said of his art, in an interview given in 1955: "My painting can never be abstract, in the sense that it can never be detached from the reality of sensations nor separated from the joy and presence of things. I believe too much in the color of the sea, in front of which I work for so many months, I believe too much in the splendor of the leaves, in the warmth of human faces, I feel their weight too much, for them not to come forward, with arrogance, in my work. I think it is necessary to illuminate these presences get better and better. I strive to translate their weight more and more clearly into rhythm, their warmth into light."
