Oil painting on canvas. In a flat countryside, near the ruins of an arched door, a fountain is located on the right: several women gather around it, some already busy washing clothes, others waiting their turn, chatting while taking care of the children. The painting is characterized by a precise definition of the figures, while the surrounding landscape is shaded in colors, spread with broader brushstrokes with undefined contours. Restored and relined at the end of the 19th century - beginning of the 20th century, the painting is presented in an adapted nineteenth-century frame.
