Color lithograph. At the bottom right is the pencil signature and embossed stamp of the printer Alberto Caprini of Rome; on the left the serial number XII/XXXV. In De Chirico's pictorial production the theme of horses is recurrent, often depicted in pairs, free in natural environments: for de Chirico this subject has the same pictorial value as nudes, landscapes, still lifes, portraits and self-portraits, in practice represent his classical repertoire, his gaze turned to the great masters of the past who are for him the object of study and improvement, and which alternates with his works of "invention", i.e. mannequins, archaeologists, mysterious bathrooms, metaphysical interiors. The work is presented in a frame.
