Oil painting on canvas. Signed and dated lower right. On the back further signature, date and title. Alvaro Mairani Vicini, a Milanese artist, initially established himself above all as a cartoonist and illustrator. It is only since 1968 that he dedicates himself exclusively to painting, creating landscapes and urban views, in watercolor and oil. This work offers a glimpse of the Milanese Naviglio della Martesana, populated by washerwomen: in a particular glimpse from above; the bright colors give the scene lightness, and recall an illustration. The work is presented in a frame.
