Description : Composizione floreale in vaso
Oil painting on canvas. The work is attributed by the label on the frame to the Milanese painter Luigi Scrosati. An established interior decorator, in whose creation he tended to refer to the styles of the past, re-proposing eighteenth-century suggestions, but also of the Baroque, Scrosati also dedicated himself to easel painting, in which he specialized in still lifes with flowers, which were almost his only production when the illness that struck him while still young forced him to abandon his activity as a decorator. Here is a composition of poppies and white gardenias, in a painted copper cauldron resting on a metal plate. The work is presented in a gilded frame from the early 1900s, with some missing parts
