Description : Ritratto femminile

Crayons on paper. Signed lower left. Specializing in landscape painting, the painter Romeo Borgognoni mainly depicted glimpses of the Pavia countryside, in a style which, although with realist rigor, draws on impressionism for its bright and vibrant brushstrokes. Instead, a portrait is presented here, that of a young lady depicted from behind, with her serious and thoughtful face turned to the side. The work is presented in a late 19th - early 20th century setting.
