Description : Vaso con fiori

Oil on the table. signed lower left. Specializing in landscape painting, the painter Romeo Borgognoni mainly depicted glimpses of the Pavia countryside, in a style which, albeit with realist rigor, draws on impressionism for its bright and vibrant brushstrokes. In this case, however, a composition of flowers in a vase is presented: a bouquet of white roses already in advanced bloom fill a decorated blue ceramic vase, on a monochromatic background in pale shades of purple-lilac. The work is presented in an early 20th century setting.
