Description : Ritratto di fanciullo

Oil painting on canvas. On the back there is the writing "Giuseppe S... fecit, anno 1662". The portrait shows a boy wearing a very dark suit, illuminated only by the white collar; he is holding a letter in his hand, perhaps bearing sad news, which would justify the mourning dress and the extremely serious if not downright sad expression of the child. The work, relined and restored, is presented in an antique gilded frame, with small defects.
