Description
Pair of neoclassical chests of drawers from Piacenza, supported by truncated pyramid legs with turned foot and collar, on the front they have three drawers plus one placed in the under-top band. Veneered in walnut, they have olive, chestnut and laburnum borders; in the center of the front, within an octagonal reserve framed between leafy and volatile scrolls, they present a maple inlay depicting "Venus and love"; the sides also have reserves with inlaid figures of musicians. Phytomorphic motifs decorate the band under the top, while a compass rose is inlaid on the top. Poplar interior, gilded bronze locks and handles have been replaced.
