Oil painting on canvas. Signed lower right. In the production of the Pavia painter Primo Carena the classic theme of bathers at the river is taken up several times. However, if in the 1940s this Cézannian-inspired subject was presented as the protagonist of the scene and endowed with its own vitality, in the 1980s it underwent a development: the figures are placed in a dilated and broad landscape, of which they represent a part, and they are depicted in rigid poses, devoid of movement, which almost look like mannequins. The work is presented in a frame.
