Description : Paesaggio con capricci architettonici

Oil painting on canvas. The painting offers a glimpse of a green landscape, crossed by a river; on the right there are some architectural ruins, imposing and majestic, and on the left a stone bridge, also with remains of architectural decorations. Some figures, barely sketched, complete the scene. It is part of that production which, since the end of the 17th century, began to introduce into landscape production the remains of architectural elements belonging to ancient eras, redundant and looming, albeit crumbling, sometimes bordering on the fantastic. The restored painting is presented in a gilded frame from the late 19th century.
