Oil on the table. Signed lower left. Mario Pobbiati, a Milanese artist who trained at the Brera Academy with Cesare Tallone, mainly tried his hand at landscapes and portraits. Here is a landscape view with a view of a lake, and animated by a figure of a shepherdess with her sheep: Pobbiati's realistic painting is characterized by full-bodied, fast brushstrokes and the use of bright, often gaudy colours. The work is presented in a period frame.
