Description

Round table in restoration style with greyhound sculptures, Sicily, early 20th century. Top in green Alpi marble supported by uprights depicting a triptych of carved and gilded wooden greyhounds, sitting in a waiting position and with leafy capitals placed on their heads. The sinuous movement of the tails, which join in the central section, is beautiful. Finally, the dogs rest on a shaped base lacquered in green and with a golden profile. This table takes inspiration from a series of Sicilian furnishings from the early nineteenth century, which use this specific greyhound model.
