Description : Natura morta con cacciagione
Oil painting on canvas. On the back there is a scroll attributing to the Flemish artist Jan Weenix, a 17th century Dutch painter and draftsman, who established himself as the author of still lifes with animals, especially with recurring elements of hunting. The painting refers to Weenix's pictorial methods and compositions, featuring a hare hanging by its paws from a piece of furniture on which a red and black patterned carpet is placed; on the right the hunting horn and the gunpowder flask are placed on the ground. The painting shows signs of restoration and relining.
