Oil on panel. Signed and dated lower right. On the back, further signature, title (Spring in C...) and date; artist's stamp. De Bernardi's painting is part of the Lombard landscape tradition of the 19th and 20th century. He always lived in Besozzo, his hometown in the province of Varese, but travelled a lot, in Italy and outside of Italy, collecting impressions and researching new landscapes to relive them in his work. He preferred landscape production, even if it was declined with a changing style in his different pictorial phases. Here is a glimpse of a small village, probably from his countryside in the Varese area, in the spring vision, with clear lights and colours that re-emerge after the long winter break. Framed work.
