Description : Laghetto con cigni

Oil on canvas. Signed lower right. On the back there is a label of participation in the Brera exhibition and another label indicating provenance from a private collection of the Sormani family of Missaglia. Born in Turin, Giovanni Cavalli grew artistically under the teachings of the Milanese Filippo Carcano, whose influence he certainly felt especially in the landscapes, which constitute his most typical production. Here he proposes the view of a small body of water, in which swans swim, located within a green space full of plants, perhaps a city garden. The painting is presented in a contemporary frame.
