Description : Autoritratto con bambino

Oil on canvas. Signed lower right. The painter portrays himself holding a glass of wine and in the company of a young boy, who could be his son Romano, who later also devoted himself to painting. Natale Morzenti created several self-portraits, following the painful events of his childhood that led him to a pictorial self-analysis, depicting himself in a playful manner, rather than melancholic or even suffering. The last, the suffering, the disinherited were always the subjects of his painting, which became almost monochrome in his last years. The canvas has slight losses of color. It is presented in a contemporary frame.
