Oil on canvas. Italian school of the 19th century. The large painting offers a pleasant portrait of a young mother with her little son: the little boy has a mischievous expression on his face, to underline his vivacity, and is held tightly by the arm by the woman, who instead expresses a disconsolate and tired look from her demanding role as a mother! The figures are placed in the pleasant living room, lively in the colors of the green wall, the shawl draped over the back of the armchair, the little roses in a vase on the table, the woman's red velvet dress. The restored and repainted painting is presented in a period frame.
