Description
A pair of porcelain ginger jars painted in polychrome enamels with Wu Shuang Pu decoration. Based on a famous book of woodcuts by Jin Guliang, the enamel paintings depict some of the "one hundred peerless personages" with their descriptions. Stylized plane-tree leaf bands decorate the bases, the upper rims are decorated with ruyi heads. Original lids with knobs. China, late Qing period, circa 1890-1900.
