Description : Madonna Immacolata con Bambin Gesù

Sanguine on paper. Immaculate Mary is depicted with Baby Jesus in her arms, holding the Cross to kill the beast symbol of evil, in the shape of a dragon, which the woman holds still with her foot; this image indicates that Mary is preserved from sin, but it is Jesus who has removed it from the world with his cross. On the back of the work there is a cartouche with an old, inconsistent attribution to Bernardino Lanino (1511 -1572). The work is presented in a period frame.
