Description
A Livorno bookcase, built in the first half of the 19th century in the English style typical of this Tuscan city. It features two solid doors at the base and two open doors at the top, with a cross-slat frame. The exterior is veneered in mahogany crotch, while the interior is maple veneer, with shelves edged in mahogany. The side racks allow the shelf height to be adjusted as needed. This piece is elegant in its simplicity, yet extremely functional.
