Description

Walnut standing desk, "bookcase" shaped base with a pair of reticulated doors, bracket uprights with leaf carvings and winged sphinxes. The lectern top folds down to reveal an open compartment, and the upper part features a cymatium carved with scrolls and leaves, culminating in a central cherub. Italy, early 19th century.
