Description

Polychrome majolica plate in shades of ochre, blue, copper green, and brown. Painted in Neo-Renaissance style with a historical-mythological scene depicting, in the center, a camp with Roman soldiers. The rim is adorned with architectural cartouche motifs, with mythological figures on a blue background. Legible mark on the back, in blue underglaze, attributable to the "Fratelli Minardi" factory, active in Faenza since 1899.
