Description : Fiori

Oil on canvas. Signed R. Marti and dated lower right. This is an early work by Ricardo Marti Aguilo (1868-1936), a Spanish painter who painted landscapes and floral compositions. The bouquet stands out for the luminosity of the central white and pink peonies, which radiates against the dark background, illuminating it with reddish hues in the lower section; in the upper section, the "bridal veil" bouquet fades into the darkness above. The painting is presented in a gilded frame from the first half of the 20th century.
