Description
Pair of lacquered, carved, and gilded fir cupboards. The central body juts outward, featuring a paneled door with beaded molding, four corner rostrums, a floral carving, and a central lady's face. Turned column uprights separate the finely painted and engraved side panels featuring a vase of flowers, leafy scrolls, and a central festoon. The lower section features gilded Neoclassical carvings, side festoons, a central medallion with initials, a pair of cherubs, and leaf and flower scrolls. The sides are also painted with floral arrangements and ribbons, embellished with a central medallion carved with a cherub. Gilded appliques, carvings, and moldings, turned and corbeled feet, and missing upper marbles. Italy, late 19th century.
