Oil on canvas mounted on panel. Signed lower right. The Chioggia-born painter Eugenio Bonivento, a student of Eugenio Pardi but influenced by 18th-century Venetian veduta painting, primarily painted Venetian views. He also applied his attention to light to his landscapes, such as the one presented here, where he uses quick, broad brushstrokes of bright colors to depict several country farmhouses against a backdrop of mountain slopes. The painting is presented in a mid-20th-century gilded frame.
