Description
Oil on canvas. The work, already restored and reintelata to mid ' 900, is presented in twentieth century wooden frame without glass. The subject is taken from the Gospel of John (17, 20) in which the risen Jesus speaks with Devika, initially mistaking him for the gardener and recognizing him as the Christ only when he calls her by name. Is this the scene represented, where Maria, characterised by its attribute (the jar of ointment), recognizing him, he jumps to his feet exclaiming "master!" and Jesus answered "Noli me tangere", meaning "I do not hold".
