Description
Plan for coffee table attributed to Simone Setti (news in 1659, 1666, 1668), a student of Modena Gavignani and one of the best-known scagliolists carpigiani. The plan on a dark background has a wide frame edges with noble coats of arms in the corners, on the sides two figures taken from prints depicting Greek gods and aruspice in games of mermen and mermaids putti. In the Middle the main image has the symbolic figures of Italy, Spain, Germany and France and their entries.
