Description

Armchair in polyurethane foam, covered with elastic fabric, bottom made of jute. The most famous of the seven UP and become one of the symbols of Italian design, the UP5 is a large wrap-around sofa. Also known as "woman", the UP5 invokes her own womb, a symbol of birth and protection: its enveloping forms in fact reproduce such feelings.The armchair is characterized by sinuous and abundant, fertility symbols, as in Palaeolithic Venus. Two large breasts in the upper part of the back, while the lower part invokes the thighs, so that when you sit down you feel enveloped and protected by her mother when she had children. The Chair is not only a tribute to women but is also a critique of the hard life that by nature women are facing.
