Description

Oil on canvas. Signed and dedicated at the bottom right. Alfredo Tominz, best known as a painter of horses and the social life that revolved around them, was actually interested in historical subjects, which became too "pretexts" for training in development of stunning and dynamic riding. Well known is "La battaglia di Aquileia", now kept at the Revoltella Museum in Trieste, which represents the cavalcade of Attila and his Huns after the siege of Aquileia 452. In the same vein and for the same years belongs our painting, perhaps even the major preparatory work. In frame.
