Oil painting on canvas depicting Ceres, divinity of the earth and fertility, tutelary deity of the harvest and also goddess of birth since all flowers, fruit and living beings were considered her gifts. Symbol of summer, the harvest season par excellence. The composition is well balanced considering that it's full of elements. Ceres is traditionally depicted as a young and beautiful woman holding a sickle and wearing a crown of spikes. The spikes are also on her shoulders and in the arms of the cherub to the left. Around her there are a lion, a crustacean and a young woman representing the three zodiac signs of Summer (Leo, Cancer and Virgo). Restored and relined, with some losses of color. In frame.
