Description : Natura morta con frutta,fiori e volatili
Oil on canvas. Attributed to Angelo Maria Rossi, known as " Carlo Torre's Painter" or better as the Pseudo-Fardella, that operated in the north of Italy, mostly in Milan, around the second half of 17th century. He was known for his still lifes . The painting in question is rich of various and colorful element in a naturalistic setting, displayed on two parallel horizontal levels, separated by the crags of an embankment. On the upper level stands out a big earthenware or copper basin full of fruit ( black and white grape, pears, pomegranates, quinces), surmounted on the left by a fig branch laden with fruits; on the lower level there's still fruit (cherries and peaches on the left, chestnuts and plums in the middle) mixed with loose cut flowers between which two big lemons stand out; on the right corner ther are three doves. The painting had alredy been restored and is displayed in an old frame decorated with painted flowers.
