Oil painting on canvas. Italian school. The painting falls within the genre of still lifes of the 17th-18th century, attributable above all to the production of Felice Boselli (1650-1732), the Emilian artist who specialized in still lifes with game. In the painting a group of birds that are the fruit of game is depicted on a table, but on the left there is also a live partridge; its presence, together with the bouquet of flowers in a vase, gives the scene an allegorical meaning, the contrast between life and death. The painting, restored and relined, is presented in a period frame.
