Etching. It was originally part of the "Views of Rome", the great success of Piranesi which collected engravings with depictions of ancient Rome, the adopted city of the artist, who began drawing from 1748. The foreshortening shows the remains of the ancient Roman temple , located in the Roman Forum at the Church of San Lorenzo de 'speziale in Miranda. The print has a central fold and numerous damp gore. In a style frame.
