Born in Codogno, after having studied in Verona Giorgio Belloni settled in Milan in 1890 and studied at the Brera Academy, as a pupil of G. Bertini, maturing in the climate of Lombard painting and soon establishing himself in the representation of the landscape. While studying and approaching important artists of the time, Belloni did not fully adhere to either the scrub technique or the "impression" technique, but rather amalgamated these experiences according to a vision that was closer to reality, suffused with a soft and smooth lyricism: the his painting is above all a search for tones and color accords, embellished with a shrewd and a little affected formal elegance, and reveals a serene and smooth world, in which nature is the protagonist. Even with the maturation of the years, his works demonstrate a singular fidelity to the taste and preferences of his youth, as Belloni did not allow himself to be contaminated by the very new and revolutionary interests of Italian and European painting of the century. XX, continuing until the end to operate according to the taste of the last romantic nineteenth century. The work presented here offers a suggestive glimpse of the small Campania village, seen from the coast: blue dominates in its various shades, on which the tongue of land with its rocks is inserted. The work is presented in a contemporary frame.
