Description : Madonna con Bambino ed Angeli
Stucco bas-relief. Tuscan school of the XVI-XVII century. The choice for the votive images of the effigy of the Madonna seated with her Son resting on her knees was quite common in the Florentine area from the early fifteenth century, so much so that it was the favorite commission among private patrons who ordered small-scale devotional paintings. Here the Madonna is seated on a chair, whose backrest can be glimpsed, and supports the Child who tries to stand up on her knees; in the upper right corner, the face of a little angel watches the scene. The coat of arms of the commissioning family is carved on the band at the base, amidst a garland decoration. The sculpture has some wear and stains. It is presented in a coeval wooden frame.
