Painting by Aurelio Caminati

Hippy promenade in Guernica 1970

Oil painting on canvas. On the back present signature, title and date. Also present are the stamps of the Bellini studio, interior designer. Caminati was a Genoese artist who loved to experiment, passing from social realism of denunciation (he was a partisan of the Second World War), to a painting close to pop-art, to then return to hyper-realism. He also experimented with different techniques and materials, and was an excellent ceramist. This work belongs to his "pop" period of the 70s, a period in which he also made various reinterpretations of art history myths: in this case it is a desecrating reinterpretation of the masterpiece Guernica, in which the dramatic figures of the Picasso painting photos of half-naked women in erotic poses are superimposed.

Painting Female Figure with Mask Oil on Canvas Italy XIX Century

Oil painting on canvas. This portrait of a woman dressed in a very abundant dress that hides her shapes and with her face covered by a black mask is curious: the visible portion of the face suggests a young and smiling face, the furtive attitude of one who tries to hide behind the heavy marquee, suggests a joke in progress, in theme with a party, a pleasure-loving moment. The painting is presented in a coeval frame.

ARAROT0210783
Wooden Triptych with Virgin Mary and Angels Italy XIX Century

Panel paintings. Three painted wooden panels are placed in a carved and gilded wooden frame. The triptych is part of the large production of the late 1800s which resumed and re-proposed the medieval style, seen as a representation of purity and innocence, and therefore re-proposed as a model to imitate. Furthermore, it was only in the 19th century that restoration began to think in a historical perspective, trying to reintegrate the missing parts of the ancient works according to the style that it was believed could be the original one. The triptych presented here dates back to the end of the 14th-beginning of the 15th century: at the top center, the carving of the frame reproduces the Florentine coat of arms of the Medici family, corresponding in number of bezants (or balls) to the reign of Cosimo the Elder (1389 - 1464). In the three panels are depicted: in the center the Madonna with Child, similar in pictorial ways to the production of Sassetta (1392 -1450); on the sides two musician angels, one who sings with the text of the song in his hand, the other who accompanies him with the lute. The plates and the frame have small losses and falls of the colour.

Oil on the table. On the back there are traces of the signature and two labels from Art galleries, the Bottega d'arte of Livorno and the Galleria Manzoni of Milan, bearing the name of the author, the title and the technical data of the work. Livornese by birth, Ludovico Tommasi was trained near the Macchiaioli current, developing a strong sensitivity for color, which led him to create realist works pervaded by harmonious chromatisms. The work is presented in a stylish frame.

Figure in Landscape

Oil on wooden board. Barely visible signature lower left. Gottardo Valentini, from Milan, dedicated himself almost exclusively to landscape painting, painting landscapes, often from Lombardy (snowy woods, autumn countryside) characterized by a late-romantic sensibility. Also in this landscape, a vast open countryside with the horizon reaching far to merge with the sky, the indistinct figure folded in on itself, alone near the pond, evokes a feeling of solitude, of pain, which the gray atmosphere , almost gloomy of the surrounding landscape, accompanies and underlines. The work is presented in a late 19th century frame.

ARARPI0129988
The Visitation Oil on Canvas Venetian School Italy XVIII C

Oil on canvas. Venetian school. The scene, inspired by the Gospel of Luke, describes the visit made by Mary, already pregnant with Jesus, to her cousin Elizabeth, who in turn awaits the birth of her son John, the future Baptist. The meeting between the two women also corresponds to the meeting between the two unborn children and the anticipation of the recognition of Jesus the Savior, with John leaping in his mother\'s womb when he hears Mary speak, who recites the beautiful prayer in thanksgiving. of the Magnificat. The two spouses attend the scene, the old Zacharias, husband of Elizabeth and Joseph, husband of Mary. Of great scenic impact, the scene is set in a building with columns; the figures are in motion, bodies and gazes cross and intertwine; the bright colors help to create brightness and lightness. The restored and relined painting is presented with a thin gilt frame.
